What does Occupy mean to you?

Cancel Your Netflix Account: As United States lawmakers continue to consider anti-piracy legislation in Congress, they’ve found an ally in Netflix. Now the streaming content giant has created its own super PAC, whose main goal is to promote SOPA-like legislation.
Via Democracy Now: “Kenneth Chamberlain, an African-American former marine, was killed after police responded to a false alert from his medical pendant. The officers broke down Chamberlain’s door, tasered him, and then shot him dead…”. Ana Kasparian, Cenk Uygur and Jayar Jackson discuss the case in the context of the Trayvon Martin shooting and other issues on The Young Turks.
Democracy Now!: White Plains Mayor Apologizes for Police Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain
The mayor of White Plains, New York, has finally apologized to the family of a 68-year-old veteran fatally shot by police in his own home. Kenneth Chamberlain, an African-American former marine, was killed after police responded to a false alert from his medical pendant. The officers broke down Chamberlain’s door, tasered him, and then shot him dead. That was on November 19th. On Friday, more than four months later, White Plains Mayor Tom Roach issued a statement offering “condolences” to Chamberlain’s family. The move came one day after Chamberlain’s son, Kenneth Chamberlain, Jr., publicly criticized Roach and other city officials for staying silent about the case for so long. Chamberlain’s killing is expected to go before a grand jury in the coming weeks.
I highly advise you to watch either the Young Turks video or the Democracy Now! video provided at the above link. The details of this story are gruesome.
I wrote about this a few days ago. There is audio and video proof that could be used against the officers, but as usual, the police department brushes off the murder of a black person to save their own.
This story needs to go viral. Kenneth needs justice and the officers responsible for his death need to be prosecuted.
Spain’s general strike shows first signs of rebellion against austerity

“With near-empty railway stations, shut factories, mass marches and occasional outbreaks of violence during a general strike on Thursday, Spaniards showed the first signs of rebellion against the reformist, austerity-preaching conservative government they voted in four months ago.
Police and pickets clashed in a handful of places, but it was a largely peaceful general strike in a country whose sinking economy, with 23% unemployment, has become the focus of worry about the future of the whole eurozone area.
Thousands of police officers remained on duty around the country on Thursday night as tens of thousands of flag-waving demonstrators flooded into city centres for protest marches against labour reform and austerity measures introduced by prime minister Mariano Rajoy’s conservative People’s party [PP].
Demonstrators brought the centres of Madrid, Barcelona and other cities to a standstill as trade unions claimed the strike was more widely supported than previous nationwide stoppages in 2010 and 2002. Rajoy’s officials claimed, however, that the 2010 strike against a socialist government had received greater support.”

“By contrast, at the height of the Occupy Wall Street protests and in related protests in other cities, officials at the U.S. Homeland Security Department repeatedly urged authorities not to produce intelligence reports based simply on protest activities.
“Occupy Wall Street-type protesters mostly are engaged in constitutionally protected activity,” department officials wrote in documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the website Gawker. “We maintain our longstanding position that DHS should not report on activities when the basis for reporting is political speech.”

Your block to TheAnonMessage’s account has directly violated first amendment rights of the constitution of the United States. This violation stands against everything our collective believes in. By speaking out against the viral Kony twenty twelve video, Youtube has decided to block a voice of truth.
At this time, the collective is thinking of teaching YouTube a lesson. We must stress that the YouTube website will not be affected. It is a medium of communication and knowledge that has fallen in the wrong hands. However, we will take a course of action that will have YouTube executives awake at night and afraid for their sanity.
No censorship.
